Sanctus Dormeus

£25.00

Patron Saint of trees, woodland, and naps.

The hazel dormouse is one of Britain's rarest mammals. With the decline of our hedgerows and of traditional woodland management techniques, there is very little suitable habitat left for them in the British Isles.

According to legend, St Gummarus of Lier once restored a felled tree. He wrapped his belt around its trunk, and the tree immediately mended itself and bloomed once more. He is the patron saint of foresters and woodcutters, and the perfect champion for our incredible dormice.

Signed A5 size print, mounted to fit a 10” by 8” frame.
This illuminated print is gold-foiled to look and feel like the gold-leafed original.
